That's a LBJ bolt in your hand. And I figured it out just fine. From now on the LBJ will be welded to the spindle. I'll carry spindles with new welded LBJ,s. Let's see how often that fails.
:gossip:12.9 bolts & red threadlocker properly applied damnit

(when you go to cut off something welded you'll regret not trying every other cheaper/easier option before resorting to welding)

Is this the size?

Wow. Wtf did you hit? I nailed a wash out at like 70 mph a couple years ago, caught 2 feet of air, and I only bent a 700 lb coil but my icons were fine otherwise..

Walmart beefed up their speed bumps...

Actually it really wasn't much more than that. Gravel road with some pot holes. Was cruising somewhere around 30-50 mph. I wish it was a cooler story.

Luckily had a homie with some blown out toytechs or something (threaded body bilsteins) near by. I was about 6 hours from home, and this happened leaving our camp spot Saturday morning. Day 1, hour 0, minute 6. Swapped it out on the site of the road, carried on with weekend, and pooped on a mountain.

Jesus. The amount of preload sure as fuck wasn't helping. Haha. Can't tell you how many times I caught air on my icons not paying attention and driving faster than I should have been. Never had that kind of damage.

Yeah I've kicked the shit out of these things for years, plenty of bigger hits than the one that caused them to fail. I hammered the same road way harder the night before driving to that camp spot. Was kind of chilling when it broke (Saturday morning of a long weekend on a blind well traveled road, had passed with a couple quads a sidexsides earlier).

Limit straps are going in next weekend.

Eibach 14" coils are rated to a safe preload of 12.5". I'm guessing these are a fair bit beyond that.

Icons come with 13" coils standard, which might explain the preload, but it's still quite a bit.

Took a new line on Gold Mtn. Ended up leaning against a tree and blowing out my rear window. Going to replace it with an aluminum bead rolled panel.

I didn't realize we know so many of the same people. Was funny to see them all in the IG post. Looks like a fun time and fucked up line.

My wife keeps threatening to have us build a crawler or bouncer. I might just have to do that in a year or two when we leave Ohio so we can go after the serious stuff. I give the Tundra a shitload of credit, but there's no way we'd even physically fit on the right side of the tree.

I actually met everyone there that day for the first time. I’ve talked to a few of them (mostly Curtis) but they all ended up being super cool guys to hang out with, which is why I ended up going wheeling with them in the first place.
I don't know about you guys. I like my 4runner a little more I guess. The Zuk not that's a different story.
I’m jusr at the point that body damage isn’t a concern as long as function isnt lost
