I was amateur at best. Took 2 semesters of climbing in college for something to do. I've got maybe 5 routes on actually rock under my belt. Mostly JT. Haha. It's been a loooooooooong time.
The entertaining part of this is going to be watching you try to crack open a cold one mid-climb

Or maybe an insulated camelback...

Naw, climb first drink later. Too much shit can go wrong too quickly with climbing. I can be responsible sometimes hahah.

These guys have lost faith in us Kyle. Lol. Cant blame em cause my shit is only capable of wheeling once a year. Hence ive been switching my hobbies up and started buying guns and shooting. Guns dont break every week like the truck. We need to go murder some coyotes in Utah bro!!!!

Doesn't mean they are any less expensive than offroading. I easily spend more money during a day of shooting than I do offroading. I made a choice a while back that I was going to focus more on wheeling than any of my other hobbies. To me it's more fun and it involves more of the things I love vs just shooting.

It's why I try to combine both. Morning of fun wheeling to get to chilitown, then an afternoon of shooting. Can't wait for it to cool down.

Money is not an issue. Frustration and time to work are more the problem for me.

Gotta love those shakedown runs... :boink:

I do want to check out the areas you go though. Is it mostly high speed stuff or is it just cruising around?

I hear Huntington Beach Toyota has some openings for people that don't want to/can't work on their own rigs...:deadbanana:

It's a little bit of both depending on road conditions. I've had times when pinkham canyon was done in less than an hour, and times it took 2 hours because it was just completely washed out and fucking whoops everywhere. Old dale starts out fast then becomes a fun cruise through a rocky section. Then you get to the Gold Crown side then it's pretty much high speed straight to camp. There's a reason it's my favorite route for testing changes ;)

Well good news is now I live 20 minutes closer to JT, Ocotillo Wells and Johnson Valley. All those places are now within an hour drive for me. Now Big Bear is going to be over an hour drive. :(

I look at it a little different. When im kicking back in the air conditioning while somebody else does my work thats a win all day for me.

I'm just giving you shit. That's why I don't do my own oil changes. I can pay someone $30 to do the dirty work while I sit in an AC office.

But there are major benefits to doing your own work though. 1) You learn how to do things, so in the case of a trail repair or emergency you can do it yourself. 2) You know where shits fucked up instead of being oblivious to other peoples mistakes.

Hahah that's funny that of all things you do your own oil. I have literally never changed my own oil. It's a pain in the ass considering how cheap it is to just drop it off and let someone else do it. It doesn't even really save much money but it saves a ton of time.

Well, once I get settled into this house we will need to have you guys over and BBQ some of those pinwheel steaks and do some heavy boozing.
