Wow who would have think that smaller companies give their employees a % match on their 401k. UPRR does not match one single dime. 155 billion and not one red cent. I was lucky and learned from an old head. Put 20% in as soon as you can. I put 20% in from day one for 15 years then lowered it to 10% for the last 8. Honestly I never thought in my life that I could do what I have done with it.

I feel bad for people that don’t understand how important it is to put away money while they are young. Even starting with $100/mo is enough to make life a little easier in the future.
Eventually stepping it up to a much higher amount as you can is something that most should really be pushing for. I don’t think most of my employees are putting anything away (at least not any significant amount), so I want to provide them with incentive to save for their future. Plus it’s a write off for my business and for them. Win win in a way.

Yeah my grandmother drilled that into my head. My younger brother was really the only one that didn’t listen. She opened us all up a Roth and that will make life in my 60’s a lot more fun.

TSLA is on a roll today again. Makes me wish I doubled down even more during the last dip.

Ooof! Wow that sucks. Are people trying to squeeze this short?
Every time Tesla climbs is due to legal shorting. Analysts keep doing it thinking it has to go down. It doesn’t and they get fucked. My father in law stated with 25k at $200ish. 4 splits ago.
I am kicking myself because I bought 25k may 2020 sold when I doubled. I would be close to triple now. Still a head playing with house money though.

Pretty wild. I'm hoping I feel like your father in law in a few years when my buy in looks like something so small like your FIL did.
