Ask my wife how long it takes to get anywhere...she does her measurements in naps. After a long drive, I'm exhausted and she's ready to 'go do something'. Pound sand woman. I just did 'something' for 12 hours while listening to wind noise and snoring. We don't talk about the same trucks we pass more than once for frequent potty stops that dont happen at fuel stops. Wait till the new gas tank is in... non-stop LA to SF. Pack an extra set of kidneys. Ahh marriage... it's the life! She did suffer through a kidney stone on the way back from SF once. "I can feel it moving when we go over bumps" *shudders*

12 hours to San Fran? You fucking leaving in the middle of rush hour? My sister lives in pacifica. With two stops it takes me 7 hours. I've done it in as little as 5.

this was headed back from BC. last leg was portland to home. 18ish hours. had to stop and take a nap in Redding, so that stint was 12hrs (edit: there was traffic and had to take a detour, 5fwy was closed). Awesome trip though. Big loop going through utah, montana (hit all the national parks) up to Banff (stayed one week) then over the rockies to BC and drove down the coast. ~5k mi.
