Yes, losing brakes is fun. I lost them up at bee canyon after I did an axle swap and had a tiny leak. Messed up double flare. Rolled into hemet Oreillys with no brakes to top off. Thank God it was like 8pm with no traffic. Followed my buddy so I can crash into his rear bumper if I need to stop.

Soooooo, I put a deposit down so that they can start ordering parts and work on my truck. I won't likely see it for just over a week or maybe even up to two weeks? I still don't have a list of items they're going to be replacing, but definitely redo the head completely (i.e. re-seat the valves, etc), the timing chain and everything that goes with it, and a few other things. I'm lucky I've been saving up money, but some of that money was supposed to go to my Civic as stated earlier. But as @Itaro stated and a few others, do the truck now and save up for the Civic later. The Civic doesn't have all that much that needs to be done to it other than I just want the timing belt replaced is the main thing.

Anyways, the truck I know is going to be BOSS when I get it back. HAHAHAHAHAHA, I wish I could buy the Stage 1 cam from LCE and have them put it in as it is a drop in cam, but slightly modified for better performance over the stock. That would be sweet!!!

I'll keep you guys updated...

Btw, @4runner DOA Danny, again, you were right for me to just take it in. I can do all of that myself minus resurfacing the head, but I just don't have all of the resources and a place to do deeper engine bay work anyways.

As it is, now these F'N neighbors are asking me to work on their shi* because they see me working on my truck and to them it's spectacular, but in all actuality all I was really doing was replacing my radiator and my sway bar end links???!!! :noidea::doh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Do the water pump on the civic too. It's right behind the belt. Another one of those might as replace it while you are in there. They are cheap.

I had just installed my new radiator like the week before or something like that. Here, I was just replacing my sway bar end links. Plus I was taking off my wheel/tires (my 31 1050s) because I didn't want them edge worn as I still have to redo my alignment.IMG_20200331_140310495_HDR.jpg

Yeah, I already plan on doing that while the belt gets replaced. Going to have them just do the motor mounts as well. The front mount is "torn" and you can clearly see it. I don't know about the other 3x, but I'm just going to go ahead and get those replaced as well. This won't be until next year, likely.

Learn to say this with a straight face:
I’m not comfortable with your model of vehicle and don’t want to be liable in case something goes wrong

or

nah
Literally ANYTHING that happens after you fuck with someone else’s shit will always be your fault.
help them put wiper blades on and 3 weeks later CEL comes on and it’s because “YOU did something to my car, now it doesn’t work and now you better fix it”.
Tell them you know your truck, not anything beyond that.

40 bucks a corner for brakes, 80 if they're drum. Rusted/seized add another 20 per corner. Add another 40 for caliper or disc swaps. Spark plugs, 40 bucks a plug depending on accessibility. Oil changes will cost you 50. You supply the parts. People turn me down pretty quick.

Your prices are low as fuck. Anytime I get hit up for side work, my rate is $250 an hr no matter what it is.
my free time is hard to come by and if you’re going to take me away from what I could be doing, you’re going to make it worth it.

I don't work on anyone's vehicle that I don't know personally and either helps me or trusts me to just fucking handle it. It's not worth the headache if something goes wrong.

Something happened awhile ago with my aunt's car after I worked on it and she sorta tried to blame me without directly blaming me. Told my mom fuck that I won't work on her car anymore.

40 bucks a corner for disc brakes is like 160/hr. Takes me 20 mins or less to do them.

I don't ever plan to part with it.

I just told my dumba$$ co-worker today that my truck is getting worked on and he is like, "why are you spending so much money... just buy a new truck..." and I'm like, ":rolleyes::doh::rockthrow::bash:"

I swear man, the people I work with are... uggggh!!! I displayed this picture up on the wall over there at work and for other reasons really, but anyways, I display this picture and they say I'm "crazy"??? HAHAHAHA, I don't know who is behind me, but she looks good? :noidea: It was another group that was behind us... @4runner DOA @AssBurns this is probably why my rear shocks were "blown"??? Quite a few of these "wheel drops" have been done!!!:noidea::afro:
IMG_8020.jpg

I eventually had to remove the picture because it was "unauthorized" and was never given permission to post on the wall??? In reality, the boss's daughter was upset I didn't go to the work anniversary party, but I had this San G trip that very weekend and I only had 1x day left to get my shi* together. The funny thing is, I still got employee of the quarter the next month??? HAHAHAHAHA,:noidea::thumbsup::beerscheers::rockon::rofl::rofl::rofl: Sorry, but I'd rather go off-roading with my friends than hang around, technically not getting paid to do so, and just have fake conversations for hours on end. That's just me though... and the kicker was was that I still got employee of the quarter and also got awarded (really just an appreciation award) by a mgr in a different dept the month after I got employee of the quarter???!!! :humble:

Finally, the daughter's husband is asking me questions about where I go off-roading because him and the daughter's dad are wanting to do trails.

But yeah, I don't EVER plan on parting with it!!!:rofl::rofl:
