Hi All,
I've been lurking a variety of 4Runner forums for some time for technical information. I picked up this 4Runner bone stock and kind of crusty about 5 years ago and it's my first 4 wheel drive. Over time I've added parts and made small improvements here and there, mostly wrenching on it myself. I'm by no means an expert, but I figured I might as well post some sort of record of installed parts and share some of my experiences for the benefit of others.
Here is the truck 5 years ago shortly after it was purchased off someones grandpa for 3,500 canadian pesos. It was sold because he could no longer drive a manual, lucky me. Oh yeah, this SR5 was optioned with an e-locker, although it didn't work when I bought it. I've since replaced it with a working unit from a scrap yard.
Here it is today-ish (loaded with camping gear and parked on an incline) and many more canadian pesos later.
Parts that I've installed. I might have missed something.
General
285/75r16 255/85R16 (~33") Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx
Energy Suspension polyurethane body mounts
Fat Pat's 1" body lift (had to source my own bolts)
JBA cat back exhaust (the original was rusted off and was hanging on by coat hangers)
Front
Bilstein 5100 (BE5-D558-T0) (scrapyard find)
OME 882 (These are for a Toyota Tundra, currently at to bottom notch, ~3" lift, I think) (scrapyard find)
JBA UCAs (not sure if there is a functional difference vs SPCs but the design seems sound.)
XRF LBJs (They aren't OEM Toyota and made from melted down samurai swords, so I might die horribly)
Toyota LCAs
SPC camber bolts (old ones were seized, these ones have a PTFE/Teflon liner)
Durobump front dual durometer bump stops (Highly recommended)
Trail Gear 1" differential drop
EimKeith strut tower reinforcement (passenger side only)
EMPI Bates Porsche 930 CV boots (on rebooted Toyota CV axles)
Rear
Bilstien 5100 (33-187174)
OME 891 (~3" lift, I think) (scrapyard find)
EimKeith PCK (Highly recommended)
Durobump 3.5" dual durometer bump stops (Highly recommended)
Nolothane polyurethane panhard bar bushings
Nolothane polyurethane upper and lower rear control arm bushings
Sway bar removed (I think it should go back in and the front should be removed)
Trail Gear Trail Safe rear axle seals
Non-Suspension
Tundra 199mm 13we brake upgrade(To clear stock 16" wheels) (Have since swapped to OEM "5-star" wheels which apparently clear 13WL 231mm tundra rotors)
Optima Yellowtop Battery
Craigslist bumper painted tremclad black
Smittybilt gen2 XRC 9500lb winch w/ synthetic line (new)
Trail Gear Trail Safe rear axle seals
Body
Black SR5 flares from a scrapyard
Power antenna delete
Yakima roof rack
Interior
Auxbeam 8-gang lighting controller on 3D printed ashtray replacement bracket (Will post photos later)

Thanks for reading.
