#30. Interested in the Tacoma build. A '96 Xtra Cab base 4WD is what I learned to drive a stick on. I loved that truck before the LBJ took it out and I didn't have the cash to buy it from my dad to get it back from insurance (I wasn't going to get rid of my S13, either). I was on the west coast then and the truck was clean. I know have a '97 4Runner Limited that is a rust bucket (I now live in Ohio) and have a 2WD frame to swap under when the weather warms up a bit. I didn't get to go to Windrock this year because of the frame holes so seeing your 4Runner scrapped saddens me after looking at mine. I'm watching the Tacoma build as I will own one once I get my 4Runner and '86 Xtra Cab going.

The Tacoma revival is something I am doing out of principle. It was sold to me with a masked knock and someone pulled a slick one on me; shame on me for being an idiot. Shame on them for having no integrity.


What I hope to come of this is having success in making it more bulletproof than before and building a platform that I can be proud of without breaking the bank (this is the big key). If you are curious about the end goal, do a search for the 1996 LN106 Hilux. This is just before they went through with making the 1997 LN107(IFS Hilux).

My end goal is an American made "LN106" 1999 Tacoma.
