If you haven't yet, you gotta try Oriflamme Canyon in Anza Borrego. I've never done the "north end" (i.e. Rodriguez Truck Trail) though. There is supposedly a boulder crop that is pretty hardcore, but just in a fairly small section on that part of the trail. Other than that, the trail is fairly tame, but REALLY fun at the same time... in my humble opinion.

I've always gone from top to bottom. I've heard that going from bottom to top is a bit more challenging, especially if you're only 2wd? It's the loose dirt/rock that will get you and yeah, I can see that happening.

But yeah, check it out if you haven't done it yet?

i’ve been down Rodriguez Canyon from the Banner Grade gate but stopped at the ABDSP boundary since I was there to pew pew. I’ve been wanting to do Oroflame on a dedicated trail run without shotguns and scoped rifles bouncing around, but haven’t gotten around to it yet.

That’s right, you were on that same White Mtn trip too. I haven’t done any Big Bear trials since then. Mostly SD co. trails.

I've been up through white quite a few times in the last few years. Think the last time I ran it was a solo run while we had a big group camping near by in 2018.

HAHAHAHA, yeah, it's a fairly mild trail for sure, but DEFINITELY the bouncing around is hideous with all those damn small rocks!!! One looks at it and is like, "man, this shi* is easy..." but then after QUITE some time of going through what almost seems endless is the small a$$ rocks that you're driving over. It just goes on and on and on and on...

Cool though. Glad you know about it. I've been on that trail quite a few times now. Whenever I go to Anza/Ocotillo, I try to make that as part of my trip since it is "on the way". But yeah, pretty fun trail.
