Would any of you guys happen to know how many inches the Tacoma rear 5.25" compress to? My buddy is thinking about buying some for a custom build

Sounds like you will need a specific application size bump stop for your set up. If you message Curtis he will take care of your needs if he can. He is currently busy asfauuuuk with top secret shit and possibly moving so give him a few to answer back.
Right you are. The 5.25" bumps caught my eye because it's mentioned they work well with shock relocates and should add about 2-2.5" of mushy gushy bump zone instead of the little rubber bricks that come stock on the tacoma.

Yeah knowing Curtis is like knowing marlin crawler (whoever he is). So cool to watch his hard work pay off for him and his stuff grow so well. Keep it up buddy
Speaking of...

Is Big Mike in here? I hear Marlin is making lower cam tan armor for most Toyota IFS except Tundra/LC200

I haz question.

When I'm done the SAS on my Isuzu (god I hope it happens soon), I'm thinking of wanting a set of these.

They'll be going on a pair of D44s. I don't think the Toyota axles that you make some sets for share the same diameter axle tube as the D44 (3").

Knowing this, and knowing a 1 off set for some asshole in Canada with an off brand vehicle that is going to have major niche modifications is likely not happening; what are my options for mounting?

I noticed some sets come machined to fit onto stick U bolt plates. If that's the case, is it as simple as ordering a set with blank plates so I can drill my own holes? Welding a set would likely be a bad idea, I'd imagine the bumpstops wouldn't handle the heat.

Thanks for the time!

I've done this two ways: weld the backing plate to the u-bolt plate, heat may be an issue; better is just to drill and tap holes in your u-bolt plate or frame and then screw the bump stop directly into that, rather than using the backing plate.

The bump stop isn't glued to the backer, it's held on with a pare of small bolts. M1x.75 if I remember right.

Hey @Plastics Guy ,

Would you be interested in doing any bumps for after market LCA’s (Total Chaos)?

I have Them now. Currently they are not a stocked item but shoot me an email, I might have a set lying around.

Our LT Durobumps have the required 3/4" additional height built into them, no need to use the 3/4" metal spacer provided with the Total Chaos LT kit. The Durobumps simply thread into the OEM location with the provided J.I.S. hardware.

I think you would want to use the 3rd gen 4runner rear Durobumps. I have them in two different sizes. a 3.5" and a 5.25" they mount with a single bolt in the center of the bump stop. The bolt size is M8 x 1.25

you can order a set up on the website and don't forget to use the 10% discount code for IFS members "IFSoffroad"

I've got Solo stock length LCAs on the way, and they only use the forward bump - will these work for that?

Thread drift but Curtis will live with it. lol

Once you get those on let me know what you get caster too. They moved the LBJ forward and I'm curious to see some numbers with SPC uppers. Are you just going with the LCA's or did you win the lottery and go with the rest of there conversion kit?

Just the lowers - and just for the relocated ball joint, I wanted to push the axle forward and see if I could get the tire out of the frame some. I'll probably keep the caster in the stock range, although you should be able to get ridiculous amounts with this combination if you wanted to.
