We'll see how they do when it comes into consumer hands. The motor is a solid option over any current option other than luxury (Land Rover, Mercedes). 4th gen 4runners and GX had 4.7 V8 which was cool. The GX460 is more of a road car than the 470 IMO.
I think this market can be a decent market if the drivetrain isn't as weak as the toyota stuff.
Better stock clearance both with approach, departure and breakover angles than toyota stuff. As well as tire clearance for 35's from the factory is impressive.
Seems like it's going to be a competitor to the Jeep JL. Instead of driving like a Jeep, it'll handle the road better as a DD, but still do more than what 95% of jeep owners are ever willing to do in a stock vehicle.
yep, Im excited for all the angry eyes and frown grills migrate over to the broncos...lol
Its gonna be the same as other platforms, the base has nothing, which we will see everywhere in parking lots, malls and colleges.
Very few are going to get all the off road options at the dealer, because who does this? Do they actually wheel or know what they are doing? Probably not. Its mostly status symbol buyers, which is fine, go murca.
What is interesting is like you said, it has the potential if the parts hold up. It doesn't seem like there is much old in the new, and that may be a good thing, but if its just another unibody that's been reskinned and over marketed, I won't be shocked. If not, I will be happy to eat crow. I want more good cars on the road. The disposable, "insurance totalled" car culture needs to die a horrible death.
