Creating a thread to post new off-road tech and developments that are relatable to our world. In the past posts were scattered, so having a spot to to house this kinda stuff makes sense. Think of this as Uncrate/Awesomer/DudeIWantThat etc except NOT full of man-scaping products...check the 3rd gen/overland forum for those products.

On with the show.

Pretty impressive. I like that someone finally made an offroad vehicle that is designed around an IFS platform. The FJ cruiser is the only attempt that I am aware of at this, which is just based on a 4runner, not really a whole new vehicle. I wonder what parts the new Bronco has in common with things like the Raptor or F150.
10 speed EcoBoost on 35's and position sensitive shock (bypasses basically) sounds pretty impressive for a 2dr offroad SUV.

its a v6 camero off roader with a famous name. It looks plastic af (FJs downfall, cartoonish looking, tbird, pt cruiser, sst, ss also to name a few failed throwback tupperware stying). Not the only off road IFS but that market has been dominated by imports. Its not a off roading platform as it is another marketing platform. Ford is not gonna make significant money from selling these, but I bet my botttom dollar if you walk into a dealership about the bronco they gonna direct you to a raptor.

I am all for the ecoboost, its proven itself over and over.

We'll see how they do when it comes into consumer hands. The motor is a solid option over any current option other than luxury (Land Rover, Mercedes). 4th gen 4runners and GX had 4.7 V8 which was cool. The GX460 is more of a road car than the 470 IMO.
I think this market can be a decent market if the drivetrain isn't as weak as the toyota stuff.
Better stock clearance both with approach, departure and breakover angles than toyota stuff. As well as tire clearance for 35's from the factory is impressive.
Seems like it's going to be a competitor to the Jeep JL. Instead of driving like a Jeep, it'll handle the road better as a DD, but still do more than what 95% of jeep owners are ever willing to do in a stock vehicle.

yep, Im excited for all the angry eyes and frown grills migrate over to the broncos...lol
Its gonna be the same as other platforms, the base has nothing, which we will see everywhere in parking lots, malls and colleges.
Very few are going to get all the off road options at the dealer, because who does this? Do they actually wheel or know what they are doing? Probably not. Its mostly status symbol buyers, which is fine, go murca.

What is interesting is like you said, it has the potential if the parts hold up. It doesn't seem like there is much old in the new, and that may be a good thing, but if its just another unibody that's been reskinned and over marketed, I won't be shocked. If not, I will be happy to eat crow. I want more good cars on the road. The disposable, "insurance totalled" car culture needs to die a horrible death.
