Took my buddy with a gx470 down some green trails, well I found myself in a headlight deep muddy water crossing, there was a massive rock and what I think was a tree root in the middle of it that I got hung up on, had to get a little aggressive on the gas to get through it. Dumb move, should’ve just winched. My timing belt ended up slipping- bank 1 cam gear was off by 4 teeth and bank 2 was off 180 degrees. Managed to retime it without taking much apart, threw in some new plugs, wires, cleaned the maf and changed the filter. Runs like a top again…….. until my alternator decided to short out on the test run, thankfully it was under warranty so I grabbed a new one and 40 mins later we’re back in action.
Nice recovery from the failures.

Got out last weekend finally. I’ve been too busy getting my wrestlers ready for the season to do anything. This is a very well known trail around here, you can’t tell from pictures but this is on a steep uphill climb, mixture of soft dirt and leaves made me slip line and smash into the rock next to me….. of course it missed my bumper… oh well.
My fuel tank is leaking from the seam, so I’m probably going to do a F150 tank and relocate it, which means I’ll most likely end up building a dual triangulated 4 link for the rear sometime in the future.

At some point my exhaust broke at the tail pipe and was pointed up toward the trunk floor. Caused this areas to rust out. Everything else was solid so I went and patched it up.

Oh lord I broke mine off on a rock and drove 100 miles home wondering what the funny smell was. It cooked my elocker harness, fuel filler hose, melted my toolbox to the carpet, and rusted the floor. That stupid shit cost me like $800 and a solid month of trying to figure out why it wouldn’t take any fuel.

Little update- new front wheel bearings, rebuilt some rear axle shafts completely, threw in my diffs. Huge difference going from 3:91 to 4:56.

And some fab updates.
My Panhard bar bolts loosened up and ground them selves down and wallowed out one of the brackets- which made my axle shift and I broke an axle side upper link mount. I decided to just cut the mounts complete off and make some new ones out of 7 gauge steel as a temporary fix until I do my f150 tank swap and figure out my 4 link. Whipped these up and made a gusset for some lateral strength. I’m thinking about just grabbing another axle housing to strip and prep for the 4 link. Currently designing an axle truss to build off of for that as well.

And I almost forgot…
I’m going to build a 3.5 over LT for the front, I do eventually want to SAS, but this should hold me over until I’m ready for that. This is pretty low cost for me. The most expensive thing is coilovers.
