Most of my local wheelin buddies are coworkers, and I'm 100% going to try to pressure them into ditching work and going to the woods some random weekday.
Haha I can imagine the boss putting 2 and 2 together and thinking what the hell are these guys up to

Pretty damn solid weekend of being outdoors. Camped, cooked tomahawk steaks on the open fire, shot 500 rounds, fished and did some good wheeling. Traveled through Massachusetts, both polar opposite sides of northern New Hampshire- from the white mountains to the upper valley, Maine and Vermont. Hit a historic trail here that’s on the verge of being closed down, bucket list on my New England trails.

After my last couple of trips out I decided to armor my axle housing a bit and came up with a plate for the bottom of it. 3/16ths thick and ready to get dragged on rocks.

Nothing worse than when you have to sit the and do surgery on the damn thing to remove it and a 15 min job turns into a hour
Or it comes loose on the trail and you leave a trail of gear oil to find your way back.

Took my buddy with a gx470 down some green trails, well I found myself in a headlight deep muddy water crossing, there was a massive rock and what I think was a tree root in the middle of it that I got hung up on, had to get a little aggressive on the gas to get through it. Dumb move, should’ve just winched. My timing belt ended up slipping- bank 1 cam gear was off by 4 teeth and bank 2 was off 180 degrees. Managed to retime it without taking much apart, threw in some new plugs, wires, cleaned the maf and changed the filter. Runs like a top again…….. until my alternator decided to short out on the test run, thankfully it was under warranty so I grabbed a new one and 40 mins later we’re back in action.

No real updates after the timing belt fiasco.
Spent Labor Day hitting trails and doing Swedish lip pillows with the boys

I've been awol for a while, so just catching up around here. I'm glad you like the LLS! Incidentally, I designed the logo to be easy to cut out and make a "speed hole" for folks that don't run brand names - hate that added weld & grind time for you; that's the opposite of what I'm after.

Also, your tanks skid reminds me of some speaker mounts I just made for the shop here (unrelated, I know, but fresh on my mind):

Thank you I appreciate it! Happy to support another small business- as someone in the welding/fabrication world by trade if a say that you make some great well designed parts.
I welded the logo because I didn’t want water and salt sitting inside of there. In New England they salt and brine the roads for 4-6 months out of the year and it destroys everything.
