Hey guys, names Andres and this is my GX470 build. Pretty much just a v8 4th gen with a lexus body. This is my 3rd build in the last year and hope to keep this longer then a few months . Past yota rigs were an 01 longtraveld 4x4 tundra and an 02 sport edition 3rd gen with arb locker, gears, armor, icon stage 4 the whole 9 yards (check me out on insta @legrandcrossover to see my past builds). This gx was bought with the intention of a luxury budget build. I’ll give a whole parts break down and budget sheet of what I have into it. Basics are I bought it stock with some nice chrome 20s, it’s an 03 with 183,000, bought from original owner with every service record from Lexus on PDF file. All work has been done by me except the welding parts.

2003 Lexus gx: $5250
Exterior was about 8/10
Interior was about 7/10

Suspension:
Donahoe Racing extended coilovers $380
Camburg Uniball uca $250
Metal tech coil conversion (new) $75
OME 895 read coils (new) $140
Fox 2.0 rear shocks (new) $180

Drivetrain:
4 American Eagle rims and 1 method $175
5 Nitto terragrapllers 50% tread $200 installed
Powerstop Brake lines, f rotors, f/r pads $172
Flowmaster 10 w/ resonator delete $140 installed
Amazon 1” diff drop kit $19

Body:
Trail Gear 4x4 67” sliders $280 installed
DV8 Tacoma scratch and dent bumper sale $220
CBI Ditch brackets (new) $50
Generic LED pods $20

Interior:
Pioneer replacement speakers (done by P.O.)
Pioneer 12” sub, Sony amp (new) $50

Upcoming parts
Icon omega double bypass rear (purchased) $400 - update now installed
Icon extended travel front coilovers $TBD
Belly skids brand and price TBD
Rear bumper (most likely coastal Fab)
Ebay rear heimed chromoly links

So far I have $8,001 into this thing including the bypasses I haven’t installed yet and it’s been absolutely amazing. Price does not include all the factory stuff I’ve sold and the old 20” momos on brand new tires. I have much more to do to this in prep for Moab and Rubicon trail. I plan on keeping this a while and really putting it to work. A trak does really well but hope to one day find a 8.2 yota axle with an e locker to swap in. Anyways happy trails and hope to meet a bunch of you out on the trails!

Pictures downloaded all out of order so I’ll let you use your imagination of which ones went first haha

Edited your posts to make the photos inline. Otherwise we'd be looking at thumbnails for days. Looking forward to seeing progress on this.

Nice! Where is this at? Look awesome!
Thank you! And Pyeatt Draw in Payson, AZ. Beautiful 6 mile trail that’s got some good technical bits but makes a good day trip, only got half way as the other half is closed due to a mud slide I guess but a trail I highly recommend those who wanna wheel in Az!
