I thought the same thing about quality control especially after watching their university videos and how great they say they are. Had one video about inspection before it gets shipped.
Still I like it the way it is.

Its like buying your Tacoma with a badge askew. Would you call it a unique. yeah, would you ask them to fix it? hell yeah! You might even ask for different truck or a discount.

I wouldn't necessarily compare the two that way. High end knives are collectibles and things like that which make it unique is almost desirable if it doesn't effect the functionality.

So this spyderco I got, I think it’s too nice of a knife for me. Should I just flip it on eBay or is there a better place

Time to make a sheath! I'm in love with this knife. Its heavy and feels just right. Imperfectly perfect.
