CA is sorta laid back on knifes and shit, but daggers are a no go around here. Can’t have dual edged knife. Not something I’d ever really want for practical reasons, but they would be sorta cool to own for novelty.
The gist of CA knife laws.
No length limits (except autos must me under 2” blade length)
No gravity/butterfly knifes
No daggers or dual edged knifes
Fixed blades must not be concealed, regardless of length. (This applies to swords too)

Was just about to order a new Kershaw since I broke the tip on my other one. I'll give this one a try for a bit.
Yeah Kershaw is a decent knife but their blade material kinda sucks. The RAT knifes have a really smooth action for the price. Just make sure you get one with the D2 blade. Also look into the RAT I instead of the II. The II is smaller so the handle might be a little too small for your hands as an EDC. I like the blade length of the smaller one, but the handle is just a tad short for harder tasks.

My Kershaw was only a 3" blade. I ordered the one you linked. I don't need anything fancy. Just something functional. The Kershaw wasn't bad, I just liked to use it like a screw driver sometimes. Haha.

I use a $15 CRKT m16 as my beat it, bend it and abuse it knife. A Benchmade triage is my main EDC though its a fantastic knife but $ so I avoid using it like a screwdriver.

You'll be happy with it then. I know some folks like longer blades, but in reality a 2.5-3" blade is almost perfect for EDC. If you ever want a great camping knife that can take some major abuse, check out the ESEE Izula II. I leave that in the door panel of my 4runner.
