I'm a terrible welder and JD will do the install. These parts are too nice and too important for a n00b. I have ideas for a roll bar, bed cap internal support and frame stuff I'll undertake. Know your limits.

81trekker's pics and prototype. It's still on the jig but heimed and baller. Stellar work. I'm so grateful for getting race stuff for the common man.
Chicken!!..put in the garage and start ripping it apart!

you are so correct and I know it. this isn't a project to learn on.
Agreed.... I had a few moments fitting this to my truck where I felt like I may have got in over my head on this one. The little tweaks/dings/dents in my front crossmember from bashing my IFS skid made for some extra grinding on the kit to make it fit. But thankfully it turned out well.

did a thing. aal to the dakars, buttered wirh red tacky. shit is heavy solo. used a table lift as a helper. adjusted the shocks and hydro bump. seems much better, firmer. only buying time before SUA or something moar betters like 4link.

yea leaf contact fun times
IMG_20200616_205926.jpg
also trimmed the leafs because arb is high on their own supply and they rub on the shackle under compression. lame.
cleaned up and ready for the ballroom

not my current settings. now compression 1 rebound 4
edit: also not current hydrobump location, just had it tucked up for torquing.
edit edit: flipped first overload to engage sooner because this pack isn't as strong as it looks.

Overloads suck because they cause a spike in spring rate that will be felt in your teeth.
Spring packs are great in that they are progressive.
If the spring rate increases exponentially it is bad.

amen, is why I've regretted this path. It's miles better than stock but I have learned the way of the righteous 14-19" shock lengths.

More is always better. But more is not always needed. Wisdom is gained with experience grasshopper.

I just did 1/4 inch forward and have some crazy caster now...or so it seems...i'll find out exactly tomorrow when I take it to Bear Alignment

High caster exacerbates body roll.
Some minor thought extrapolation will show it to be true.

Can you explain this a little more for me? I’m missing the connection of caster and body roll.
Helps if you picture caster exaggerated to a ridiculous positive degree like 45°. As the wheel pivots it moves up which actually will drop that side of the axle, and the opposite side will lift.
Hence the reason why drag cars can get away with huge positive caster for straight line stability at high speeds.

Never thought of that before. Makes sense. Especially if you have a high scrub radius.
Now does the small amount of caster really make any noticeable difference in our vehicles in it's effect on body roll? I could understand this being an issue on track cars with very little body roll. We have so much body roll already.

Especially when we remove the anti-sway bars...lol.
It probably has very little effect also because if our relatively low caster angle.
I did however notice quite a bit of movement when. I was doing my alignment and did the caster swing. First thing I noticed was the height change of the body. Then I actually did the calcs and realized I was over 7° caster on that side. Much less movement noted once caster was dialed down into the 4.5° range.
My scrub radius is also crazy huge.
