Talk to me about vehicle intercom systems and radio interfaces.

I'm tired of the noise in the cab, and struggling to here the wife or boy talking when I'm driving. So instead of making the truck quieter I'm going to get an intercom setup. It also needs to support a LMR setup to talk with other vehicles in the group. I'll keep the CB as a stand alone to talk with the poors when I have to.

Things i'm considering:

Then there is rugged radios setup for 1200 bucks:

Other than not having to roll it yourself, I'm not seeing anything worth $600 bucks, especially since it's only a 2 place kit.

Yes, M/T tires, long tube headers, 3" pipe from the cat-back and a "muffler" in name only. But I'm not giving up the HP gains for noise, especially since it makes merging easier.
I sound deaden two Tacoma"s. I used the sound deadener and then 1/4 closed cell foam glued on top of the deadener with contact cement. On the doors and floor I used 1/2 closed cell foam. I gutted the interior to do it. It's a lot of work but it was worth it. For the first three weeks afterwards I was speeding everywhere because it was so quiet inside the cab. 90 sounded like 70.

Honestly sounds like your truck is just way too loud. Get a high performance muffler and quiet that thing down. No need for crazy loud exhaust. Sound deadening would be a good idea too.

I don’t know shit about intercoms. My buddy works for PCI radios though. I’m sure I could get him to share some information.

I'd like to get an intercom in my truck soon. Pci or rugged. Right now I just use ear plugs in the dirt. On the street the truck is fine. Play music, talk to a passenger, and talk over the ham is all I want to do.

I'm not looking forward to my truck getting loud after a cage is done. Gonna probably add some sound deadening and leave some interior panels wherever I can. Cab will be welded to the cage so I know it will get loud. My exhaust isn't crazy loud but I still want it to be much quieter. Stock sounds would be awesome, but I have no room for a quiet exhaust.

Intercoms are nice, but it's just more of a hassle with kids n shit. I'd rather have a quiet interior.

4 banger and solid motor mounts is my main source of noise. V6 is a lot easier to make quiet.

Watching this. Want to do an intercom for when i have the half doors on but not looking to spend 1200 bucks on the rugged setup.. I have one of their race radios mounted in the dash. Anymore info on the intercom and headsets that were posted in the original post? Those look pretty good for the money .
