Those will come in handy stepping out when there is ice on the ground. At least for some people it works. Lol.

That’s gonna hurt the wallet. I am not looking forward to buying tires either.Yeah. And getting to the roof when needed. Runner is over at the tire shop getting new shoes too right now.
Oh yeah it did. 2013.00 ouch. But will be good for winter and they will last a few years as I only put maybe 3k miles a year on the runner. So it is what it isThat’s gonna hurt the wallet. I am not looking forward to buying tires either.
It ain't looking good.
I vote SAS
I am an idiot. I spent a shitload of time and almost as much $$ to keep the IFS...Seconded. If I had the skills I'd SAS my Tacoma and give the kid the 4bummer.
I got you if you got questions. SAS'd a first gen tacoma ( 1tons) and 3rd gen 4r (d44). WFO is my preferred supplier for parts to minimize fabricating for these swaps.Yeah I'm really looking at the SAS. I'm not very knowledgeable on the subject so I'm starting research. My buddy is in the process of ordering all his parts and has done it to a second gen runner. So that's definitely going to help. But it is allot of money to throw at it. And I just got all the new suspension. Yes. I can sell it but still . I have some time to think about it. I might just fix the diff for now and start collecting parts. The 4runner is mine for life so why not keep building.
Awesome! I'm sure I am going to have a fuck ton of questions. But first things first I want to buy a lift. Next get the garage finally wired for 220. Then start buying parts to hopefully keep the down time to a minimum. I think I'm going to try and make it a winter 2024 project.I got you if you got questions. Tore into the 4runner last night to fix what I thought is a broken cv. It's not a broken cv....... I am hoping it's not the diff. But next step is to swap the manual locking hub from passenger side to the driver side to see if that's it. Next drain the diff and check for metal. But might be the spider gear is kinda what the video is showing. Wish me luck gents. But I'm already preparing for the worst-case scenario. And if thats the case I'm going one of two steps. The cheap route and getting a locker. Or the expensive route I'm not ready for and SA
Yeah it is. I think you're correct. I think the aftermarket world will fill the void to some degree but not going to be forever. I did find out it was the manual hub and already found them and have them on the 4r. But it's going to come down to doing the swap sooner rather than later. Might aswell do it when I'm young ish.I have a theory that most people with the 3G4R & 1GTaco will end up hitting this crossroads in the coming years. Parts are starting to get more difficult to source, and it is exhausting trying to keep up with the IFS....
