Who's down for an "IFS attempts the Hammers" clusterfuck the weekend of October 25th to 27th?

Get out there Friday night, do a booze cruise up Turkey Claw.

Saturday do Chocolate Thunder and attempt Jackhammer if we still have anyone left that is willing and able.

Saturday night, we get @Mike_taco4x4 to make a fuck ton of pinwheel steaks, and do a lot more boozin'.

Sunday we can do a morning hangover reducer run around the area, and play in the sand dunes for a little until we are ready to pack up and head home.

Some suggested trails:
- Aftershock
- Sun Bonnet Pass
- Lower Big Johnson

Who's in?

@DZRTRNR
@Hank
@Tetten
@theesotericone
@Hd3rdgen
@Mike_taco4x4
@4runner DOA

Jack Hammer? :popcorn2:

Have you been up Jack Hammer? It's pretty gnarly, even for a dedicated crawler.

Sun Bonnet is pretty fun, and I think would be a good challenge for IFS.

There's also Aftershock, pretty doable until the very end, you know it's a good one when there's permanent anchor points for a winch line at the last waterfall. But it's not over yet. I've done Aftershock plenty of times in the crawler. And I have attempted it once in the tacoma, only having to turn at the around at the waterfall because of the number of broken rigs and the time frame.

I've been part ways up it walking. I parked at the small waterfall and walked as my buddy in his TJ went up to the 2nd waterfall and a little past it. It looked doable though. It might not be doable, but I'd like to check it out and see. I'd be down to check out Sun Bonnet (is that the one on the south end of the mountain? I've walked up part of it about 5 years ago. Looked nut's then, but my 4runner was almost stock at the time)

I don't know much about aftershock. Might have to look into that one too. I'd like to attempt the "doable" trails first before trying the much harder ones.

Sun Bonnet is the one that would be on the South East side nearest to Landers.

Yeah I've been part ways up that one. I just watched a video of it. It actually looks doable. Not sure how doable, but definitely has potential for us to tackle.

You should also run Lower Big Johnson, I believe it's one canyon past Claw Hammer. It's short, but fun.

This is Lower Big Johnson back in 2009 I believe. We ran this the day after trying to do Aftershock..

That one definitely looks doable. Let’s add it to the list!

We stopped inviting people because no one shows up. lol

We still haven't pinned down a date. The idea is to just keep on eye on DreamFlows and see when the flow rate goes down. Once it's below 150 CFM we plan on doing it. Could be Oct or it could be Nov.

I'll try and make some time in the schedule for getting hammered at the Hammers though.

Well keep me updated on that trip. I’m very interested in it.
