I've been pretty good at saving money lately. And since I didn't buy shocks or seats for the BeerRunner, I just reallocated those funds to this project lol.

That's the plan! If I can get all the cookie cutter stuff done to it, and get it running right, I should be able to make a profit in this market. The tires are going to be the thing that kills the budget the most. I could've gotten used tires but I specifically wanted some skinny 33's, which are not as easy to come by on the used/resale market. Even if I lose a little money on this project it will be worth having it so I can get out and do some wheeling.

If I knew I may have considered, but I really wanted the skinny 33's. Less rotating mass, and more clearance without spacers or fender trimming.

if you don’t Michael Jackson the thing up too much, keep me in mind when you get ready to sell it.

Is that thing insured? Kicking those jack stands over might be the easiest thing to do if it is. :boink:

Of course it's insured. I don't wanna start over though.

i saw you got poopers, which one did you get?

St Maxx.

I have Thursday off.

If you wanna come try them on, you can, but I'll be training 9-11 and 1-4 Thursday. So I won't be able to step away during those hours. 11-1 is fair game though.

Coopers have always treated me well. I’ll never buy a different tire

Always wanted to try them, but I've been on the km2 kick for awhile now because I kept getting them used, then replaced under warranty as I had issues with new ones. Finally wore them all down enough to warrant new tires. Haha.

Was scheduled to get tires installed next Wednesday the 17th, but the shop called me yesterday afternoon and told me the tires came in earlier than expected and I can come by whenever. Just dropped off the truck and we’ll see how it looks in a few hours.

I didn’t get all the parts I was hoping for today so I’ll be swapping the t-case, installing rear shocks, and @Spiker hood struts.

Considering you run those on the Beer Runner and now the new runner, they must be as kickass as I think they are. I know you're all about function, but dang they've gotta be one of the best looking tires in my opinion. Obviously it's super subjective, but do you find them to be loud? Maybe you need a few months to see, I can't imagine tire noise is any concern on the Beer Runner.

I really like these tires as you can tell. I can’t stay they are the best because I don’t have enough personal experience with other tires, but I these have held up amazing on the BeerRunner over the years. I think I’m on my 3rd set now.
Now for the question of how loud they are, I don’t think they are that bad. I’ve driven in rigs with worse road noise.

Got the transfer case actuator swapped out and still no luck getting it to shift into 4wd. Must be something with the wiring then. Unless this actuator is shit too.

New tires are on. I took it up the local trails for about an hour and surprisingly it doesn’t rub much, so clearancing should be super easy.

Got the new Bilstein 5100 rear shocks on. Actually has some damping back there now.

Changed the front brakes, and LBJ’s while I was at it.

Still waiting on quite a few parts to show up to keep progress moving forward.

pull the 4wd selector and check continuity on the switch.
might be a dirty contact. similar issue with a GMC I had a while back.
Start from there, check the fuse, work your way down the wiring

I’m kinda retarded when it comes to electronics.
This case is weird. It has a manual shift lever but internally it activates a switch to turn on the electric motor. It’s dumb.
I’ll see what I can figure out with checking the switches.

Manuel up/down lever like an old school auto trans?

It has the same shift pattern as a manual J shift, but only the Hi/Low is mechanical. The 2wd/4wd/AWD is electronically controlled. The shifter moves a rod which is connected to a sensor, which tells the actuator to move another rod which controls the shift forks.
It’s dumb.
