Get a new fucking torque wrench. For important bolts I go by feel. When I feel my impact bottom it out it's done. I only torque 2 things on my rig. My LBJ bolts and my lug nuts. Everything else gets impacted.

It was a new torque wrench. Hahaha. I was smashing my rear bumps left and right over 2 days. I'm not at all surprised I lost a bolt, but I was very surprised I lost that particular bolt. I either need stiffer rear coils or I need these ads stiffer. They're soft as fuck.

What's the PSI on the nitrogen?

Damn that sucks. Be safe tonight guys!
Yeah dude it’s was a PITA to fix out there. Ended up extracting one of the sheared bolts and broke the extraction bits on the second bolt. So I was able to have 3 out of 4 bolts on there, then welded a bead next to where the 4th bolt goes. Good enough for me.
Shit. How much damage did the front end take?
Bent my fender. Sheared 2 of the bolts in the spindle, got one out.
Looks like what happened was the outer two bolts came out and caused the inner two bolts to shear.
I got super lucky though. I broke the first bolt at like 10 mph, and heard it break so I hit the brakes and then the second bolt broke at like 5 mph. I also happened to be like 1/4 mile from camp. I was able to steal two bolts from the other LBJ and bolt it all back together and limp back to camp.
The next day we drove into town and picked up a new LBJ so I have fresh hardware and fixed it like mentioned above.
Dude we fucking froze last night. 30s and high winds. Got snowed for about 20 mins while driving through.

Hope the rig didn't take too much damage. I found out I lost my panhard bolt on the way home shortly before your house. Was headed there anyway to drop off your box so limped it over there and spent about 15 mins scrambling to find a bolt that would get me home at your curb. Haha.
That’s cool you got snow but the cold sucks. We had to deal with some wind, light rain for half a day and some cold (low 40’s) but it wasn’t that bad.

Also blew out the input shaft seal on my steering rack way the fuck up in a rocky canyon/wash. Driving back to camp killed my arms!
Since I couldn’t drive today I rode my buddy’s 110 all day. That also killed my already sore arms.
Drove all the way home with no power steering. My arms are sore as fuck now.

Hoping to do some prep this evening and tomorrow.

How many are truly in for next weekend? Starting midday Friday and thru Saturday?

As a recap...
2 areas, Florence Junction east of Phoenix and Table Mesa north of Phoenix

Each have 3-4 rock crawling trails that are doable for these rigs. Depending on how many rigs and how they are setup and driven, could cruise thru all the trails at a location Friday afternoon and hit the other the next day. Or if SHTF, might be only a trail per day. So I don’t want to over-plan.

FJ Trails:
Elvis
Jack Handle
Woodpecker
Highway to Hell (maybe)

TM Trails:
Raw Deal
Lower Terminator
Upper Terminator
Predator (maybe)

As long as I can get my shit working this weekend. Need to replace the steering rack, which should be pretty easy, but I heard some weird clunks while turning while on the way home the other day. Gotta figure out what that noise is and if its something easy or if something is fucked. *Fingers crossed*

As for trail runs and locations, I'm down for whatever. If we can make both locations, great! If not, then I'm sure we'll still have a ton of fun.

@Hank you coming to this?

I'm sure more folks are gonna bail as we get down to the wire, and rigs still aren't fixed or ready. That could be a good thing since it'll keep the group size down. But more people is always fun when at camp drinking and BSing.

Yeah that lame. Hopefully you can pull it off. I'm pretty determined to make this trip. I just gotta find out what that clunk noise is. We'll see tomorrow.

So I got my steering rack fixed, but still have a clunking coming from the rear end when I make left turns. It’s either my locker is trying to engage or my spider gears are shot. I’ll just run it locked all weekend. I’m towing it anyways

Maybe it's not completely disengaged? You do it manually right?

Who's rig are you towing it with? I figured you'd drive it since we make fun of "trailer queens" so much. lol

Yeah I have to do it manually since the actuator isn’t working.

Hahah too far to drive it each way. Gonna borrow my dads truck and trailer.
