i guess i would talk next about 6500+lbs on a 8inch ring gear. but this seems to be the wrong forum for this discussion. the math has been done, you either beat a poor tacoma to death, grenading items left and right, or you build it to never die. i have done both.

still feels weird to say trump in a post and not get a warning or a three day....

No fucks given. Religion and politics have been civil around here. As long as it stays that way there's no need to censor.

True true. I’d love to upgrade the front diff (long term plan is to try to stuff an AAM 9.25” under there. Just no time or money for it at the moment. Until I can afford 1ton IFS done right, I’ll be beating it to death.

The only drive train part on these trucks that's weak is the rear differential. How many drive train parts do you think I've broken in the couple hundred crawling miles my truck has under it? Or for that matter, any parts on a crawling trail? The answer: 2, both on the last trail I did.

So are we doing this again next year or what?
If so, still doing Dusy or mixing it up?

@Tetten and I have a really bad idea to do Dusy, Rubi, and Fordyce in a week. We talked about it in another thread briefly. I know that Dusy and the Rubi will be doable but adding Fordyce would be next level stupid.

I like the idea a lot but don't think all the rigs that start will finish. Between mechanical failure and mental failure it will be a very hard thing to actually pull off.

As much as I love the idea of something they stupid, I think we’d end up not even making it to the second trail. This year we didn’t even make it to the second quarter of the trail before most of the group had mechanical issues or mental fatigue.

I’m down to plan it, but I hope we don’t end up disappointed.

Hopefully as long as me and Matt don't wheel 4 times in 3 months his wife probably won't be super pissed about 1 extended trip.

@Mike_taco4x4 is a lost cause

As long as I don't shock load the hell out of my truck a week before the trip I should be OK.

But yeah still planning on this sometime mid September.

Im not really into rushing through a bunch of hard trails like andy and matt are. I like to relax too. So if its gonna be a trip where we want to finish dusy in 2 days count me out.

Ive been on 6 days 10-12 hours for a while so its tough. Sunday is my only free day and its dedicated to watching football.

Yeah I get it. It's like me working in the dark after work. I just don't do it because it sucks. Unfortunately not everyone has garage space like these other guys.
