Those actually might be able to keep you rear tires on the ground!!! Unlike those dumb icons

It's about the same amount of travel. I need to cut my rear plastic up some so I can shave my bump stops down.

Seriously, those Icons could not keep up with that much weight back there. Didn't you have the guy set these up for your trucks weight/driving style?

I didn't. I figured I'd give the stock tune a run through desert season since I'll be running a lot of familiar trails which would give me an idea of what needs to be adjusted by the time we're ready to get back into the mountains. Plus I figured a stock tune would slow down the process of getting them, except I'm at 8 fucking weeks today and I still don't have fronts so I should have just had them setup and waited for them.

I was also running stock bumps which are hard as fucking bricks. The wheeler's bumps helped a little bit when we were running to/from Motino. Without all the weight the Icons actually did a decent job at higher speeds.

makes sense. You'll have a good idea of what needs to be adjusted after the 2nd trip in the desert. These ones are easy to pull apart and swap out shims. Just set up a bench vise and you can do it pretty quickly. You'd be able to revauvle them inbetween desert runs.

With the bumper weight, my guess is the compression will be too soft and the not enough rebound valving.

Already have a bench vice, just need to clean the garage so I can get to it. hahah. Did you ever manage to get ADS to send you shims?

The last I got from them was, "Pay us $350 to revalve them for you plus shipping both ways". Still never told me what shims are in there or what the were going to change them to. Right now it's pointless for me to try and set them up because I have no bumper or winch weight and 700# springs so once I get the winch and bumper, then I will go through and tune them. Mine will just be a pain in the ass because I do not not have resi's. so instead they have IFP (internal floating Piston). So I have a needle valve running down the middle of the shock that I will also have to adjust.

If I'm gonna pay anyone to do it I'll either go to DC Shocks in San Dimas or Accutune in Carsen. Fuck shipping shocks when we've got 2 of the biggest tuners locally and I've already done business with DC Shocks when they did a rebuild on my Icons for me last year.

Yeah, with the resi's it will be super easy to pull apart at revalve. no need to send them off to someone and do it for you.

Yeah, I figure it's time for me to figure it out. The biggest problem is the 700 # springs. I'm gonna need to invest in a floor or wall mount compressor.

Haha I should say, the rears will be super easy.

There was a guy on TW who bought one of those cheaper Amazon ones. I need to see if I can remember who it was and ask how that panned out for him.
