That's also assuming that it's not destroyed in the fire seeing as the whole of the Western United States is on fire.

Ugh, yeah. Northern California is getting the brunt this year. Lot of the so cal has burned out the last 3.

Well, I've made a lot of work for myself for no real reason. This list originally started as a short "maintenance" list. :deadbanana:

I should have everything I need to work on the truck by next week, and the truck should be apart next week once my dad gets his beadlocks back from powder coat and we get his new BFG Krawlers mounted.

I've been looking at doing that MarMount idea for mine as well, pretty cool idea

Definitely a neat idea. Hopefully this helps keep the rubber from tearing for the rest of the foreseeable future. I plan to later on build a set of "MarMount" motor mounts since mine are still the original motor motor mounts that came on the truck.

Well, as much as I wish I could say that I got everything done on my list, it turns out I spent 4 days twiddling my thumbs because I was waiting for parts, but also I couldn't really break out the welder or angle grinder since my dad ended up having meeting all day this past week. Oh well. I'll get around to the rest of the list eventually.

I did at least dig into the crawlbox and found out that a bunch of ATF seeped in and helped spring a leak and thin out the gear oil. Seal was pretty bad as well. I also took the time to pull apart the crawlbox and complete reseal the whole thing.

I then finally got time on Saturday to fab up a bracket for the crawlbox. This is going to help a ton with controlling the weight as well as the torque while in double low.

Yes, I used a 3/4" bolt. It's absolutely overkill, and I love it. No, I didn't clock the t-case more, for a few reasons. 1) I personally think it's more of a wasted effort. The most I would gain would be an extra 1/2" of clearance from the spacers I used to help clearance my skid plate from my t-case. 2) I personally can't justify the amount of work that would go into making the belly completely flat. I personally would look at sacrificing some clearance for some 1/2" UHMW to throw on the skids before I'd lookin into complete rebuilding the underneath of my truck. UHMW would help me slide over anything that would cause me to get hung up on. Just my 2 cents however.

I'm new to this forum and relatively new to the wheeling/off-roading scene. I just wanted to drop by and say man, what an awesome build and job documenting it. I think I have officially found my new favorite 1st gen Taco! I've owned my 2000 4Runner since I graduated high school five years ago, been building it up on the college budget as carefully as I can. Sub'd for sure!

I decided to get the Taco a new muffler as a early Christmas gift. Also that's my way to justify spending money on the truck right now.

In with the New

Also video since I know people want exhaust videos. :noidea:

So far, it's a nice change. Not too much drone, but I can always sound deadened my truck later if I find it to be annoying. Haven't drive the truck much outside of my 10 minute commute to work, so I guess I'll just wait to really give an opinion on it.

My neglected pile is finally starting to get the TLC she needs. Stills lots of work to do, but at least I got around to a few things.

Made a small mount for my Scanguage 2.

Put a deck plate in my air box since I'm thinking I'm going to removing the snorkel next year, but I also might not and just waited an hour of my time. :smash:

Also removed my dry rotted and cracking intake tube and replaced it with an Airaid Modular Intake Tube. So far I like the less clutter in the engine bay, but that's about it since I haven't driven more than 2 miles with it. Only time will tell.

Also installed a Hayden 678 Auxiliary Transmission Cooler. Currently it's acting as a secondary transmission cooler so hopefully long drives or treks to the mountains means lower transmission temps.

She also got an oil change and new oil filter. Hopefully over the next few weeks she's won't be so much of a pile, but like I said, lots of work still to do.

I guess before I completely about this thread I should update it. :spy:

For starters, I built "bedside supports/mounts." I really only built them for my co2 tank, but I'll probably mount a 1.5 ton race jack on the passenger side, but that's a build for another day.

Not half bad for not having done much fab work lately. Welds aren't anything to write home about, but they'll hold.

I'm also going to be ordering Tundra Brakes, new LCA bushings, DuroBumps for the front, and maybe Alignment Cam Eliminator Plates depending how my alignment is after this.

Oh, and 5.29s and an ARB Air Locker for the front afterwards. Truck is going to get some much needed love and attention and hopefully is going to drive a ton better after all this is said and done.
