Attention AZ folks! There is a cleanup occurring NEXT WEEKEND in the Four Peaks Area! I will be there, along with one other guy from our crew. It would super awesome if we had a great showing at this event. These cleanups are near and dear to my heart as they help preserve the area's beauty, but also ensure our future recreational access. Below are the details for this cleanup.

More details, and a map!

It might be an awesome opportunity for a little camping trip on Friday night (or Saturday night) if anyone wanted to. I won't be able to, as I have to pick up and drop off my co-worker from the airport each night around 8pm. But, it would be cool to see you all arrange something.

Giveaway:
There is going to be quite a big giveaway/raffle during this event. We are contributing a pretty major prize, and there are other groups that have contributed some goodies as well! Of course, we will be giving out stickers and koozies on a first come, first serve basis for those who come help out!

This is awesome!! I wish I was closer (and didn't already have a trip planned) or I'd be there. This is the kind of stuff we definitely need more of!

I agree! We are starting to work with TreadLightly! a lot more, and hopefully this will continue into the future. In fact, their Executive Director and Education and Stewardship Manager came to visit us in our Williams, AZ facility early last week for a meeting so it's a good start to a partnership that hopefully results in more of these events!

Is TreadLightly AZ based too? Maybe we need to hook up with them one of these days and plan a local cleanup event like this.

I won't shit up this thread, but I should have some time early December to plan a cleanup.

Nope, they're Utah based. But they say they have small grants for groups wanting to do projects like these. I can get the information for the best person to contact if you'd like?

Yes.Definitely send me a PM with the contact info for someone like this. There are a ton of places out here that can benefit from a good trail cleanup.

Well, I am not sure if any IDPOR members ended up coming. One Tacoma/Land Cruiser owner introduced himself to me which was great. I waved to a few other Tacoma guys while driving but no one waved back

Overall, this was an AMAZING event. There were well over 200 volunteers (last I heard was 238 at noon before the second session) that really busted ass yesterday. We nearly filled up 4 giant roll off dumpters. Tons and tons of people walked away with raffle prizes for their hard work, and I don't think I've seen so many smiles and had so many good conversations with folks at a trail cleanup before.

Partied too much the night before, got a late start, drove by around lunch time, felt bad about myself and faded out.
You both are terrible excuses for human beings. Shame on you!! :flipoff:
