I just talked to the Assistant District Supervisor for Inyo NF. The order is in affect until the 14th. Then they will revise. He expects full closures to last until the end of Sept but at least they will address it weekly.

Even if they reopen the national forest, San G is only open seasonally. Season ends in 3 weeks and requires a camp host. You know they sent that guy packing and told him to come back next year.

these fires are heartbreaking. I grew up in these forests. These are my childhood playgrounds. There's certain trees I always sit under (shitting trees lol) or look for whenever we go by (almost like checking in on a friend). Most campsites I knew blindfolded as a kid. I know I know dirt lovin, tree huggin hippie here...
