Serving up a hot wrap. Taking my time Its all burned in now, just a few smaller welds to go and plugging in the cap on the under-side.

Thx duke. Sometimes I do measure.... But it's mostly just staying in the lines on my coloring books.

Plenty of room for the castle but and swing. I'm loving it.

Pitman arm angle relative to the frame. I think it might be the tolerance between the bolts and sleeves i.e. a little bit of float. I can live with that considering having to punch holes perfectly on plane with one another on the inside and outside of the frame. Time to cut the big...

Theoretical droop for both wheels straight down. Little to no weight from truck CG to the front bumper. At curb height , I think it should sit much closer to level. Compared to the stock angles, this looks like an improvement in bump steer.

Pulled everything off to then punch 4 holes in for the frame sleeves. 2 sleeves above the OG frame rail and 2 sleeves through the frame rail. Thing the new in with the old, just like the Tacoma frame repair. Steering box clearance is probably the most satisfying part of this all. I can't...

... I was able to get these parts cut by a good friend of mine (End Of The Trail Fab). Bent the top plate here on my little press brake and it came out great. Another fitment check. This is dead-on. Forward swing of the axle keeps the tubes from clashing. Bottom of the pitman arm is the...

Stacking things up. Steering at full lock and axle tucked. Big problem. I don't know if this qualifies as a c-notch, but I'll give it a shot. Final call? It fits nice.... We need strength, so full box-section is the go.

Here's a catch-up. Fitting up the shaft and getting an idea of the firewall plate I gave myself some time to think. Realizing I had a big problem.... Under suspension flex, some major collision potential. Suspension fitment for confirmation. Steering box has to slide back and tuck up into...

Putting the pieces back together Time for test fitment. Orientation for reference on how it sits in the truck All done. Need to now cut out the small plate section where the 4 old bolts mounted and weld one of these plates in place.

Shaft end turned down to .750" ish.... perfect light slip fit. The end of the 3/4" Borgeson u joint is a .552" Across Flat / .750" OD (D- shaft). Machining the flats across Super tight fit. It almost creates a bit of vacuum when putting together and removing. I got lucky! Very satisfying...

Spent some time making the next part of the steering system. Everything on the column. Making sure to improve this system by putting a beefy support bearing in there at the firewall. First, a slice to make some new firewall plate blanks. Fits nicely; a 3/4 bore bearing housing with 4 x M12...

@Dukestaco Thanks Duke! I'm enjoying being able to keep working on it and although my day job now consists of desk-jockeying, this keeps me in touch with real work. I can't wait to smell this thing burning off that sweet diesel.

Truth be told. I am making sure this all fits prior to working on putting together more videos. There's a lot going on here that ultimately changed for the better, but it is finally time to work on the plumbing and close the loop on air, oil, fuel and cooling to get it fired up.

The size and scale is just insane. Clearance looks really good too. Full driver steer lock and clearance is awesome Love this mid-steer setup. Nice compromise for a SUA build. I should probably be able to squeeze out all of the articulation possible with this. Axle to frame is fairly...

This makes parts availability a breeze in North America, steering will never be a weak link, and generally scaled to size with the whole rest of this awesome machine. Excited to run this. We will see what I can do about a solid spacer over the boot for the drag link to mimick the "cure" for...
