My boss is on vacation today so I could have totally split early and tried to hotspot from/near camp for a few hours.

Looking forward to next year. Thankfully desert season is around the corner and I can't wait to start getting out regularly again now that I can afford it. Last year sucked. I missed out on so much desert camping due to lack of funds.

I drove up to San G today. The roads are open and the weather was nice. On the road up you can see all the charred vegetation. All the way down the road, you can see where there was fire. I didn’t see any active fires, which was great but there are still fire personnel in spots off the road.

San G is still there and in one piece. Unfortunately it was closed. I stopped at the gate got off my truck. I could see the camp host’s trailer but no one in site. I stopped at the Barton Flats campground, it’s about 1/2 mile before San G. The camp host was friendly. He invited us to look around. Barton Flats is open if anyone is looking to camp. It’s not San G, not even close but it’s open.

I’ve been very busy with work, but I’m looking to have a few local to you meets. LA, OC, SB, SD and anywhere else I need to go. Do you guys have any ideas where and when we can meet up and distribute t-shirts. Post it up, if we can agree on a date for each city, I’ll take the t-shirts for everyone.

I'll be having a mod day soon for the Tacoma, probably early November, but I don't necessarily want a ton of people at my house.

Really good to hear, just really sucks with what happened to that whole area?

Was that the El Dorado Fire or something like that? What started that fire in the first place? :noidea: There were so many fires all of a sudden, I lost track of what was what.

That’s the gender reveal fire
Okay, that is what thought, but wasn't exactly sure. I heard some diesel truck started a fire also??? :noidea: But yeah, honestly, kind of strange that just ALL OF A SUDDEN there are fires just raging out of control and getting started all over the F'N STATE???:confused2:

Potentially. I need to do a whole suspension swap on mine. Front and rear shocks, leaf springs, and bumps. I can totally do it solo but it's an excuse to have a mod day.
If not, all good Danny. I don't plan on doing any off-roading any time soon... maybe hit Anza/Ocotillo would be finally nice to be able to do, but still too hot for my personal liking.

I've been wanting to do a night run from Holmes Camp Ground to The Pumpkin Patch...
