LiFePO4 vs AGM vs Deep Cycle, Lead Acid, etc

At least they have a BMS. Definitely do not have any temperature based charge protection though. The biggest clue about their set up is the 7-9 year life expectancy. To be honest that is pure garbage. A probably set up system with that battery chemistry should at least double that life. The...

LiFePO4 vs AGM vs Deep Cycle, Lead Acid, etc

What provisions does that battery have for temperature controlled charging? What modifications did you do to your charging system to keep that battery happy during recharging? Any drop in replacement LiFePO4 HAS to have a built in BMS otherwise the battery go kaput very quickly. There are...

    Random shit

I have used both Warn synth cable and Amazon synth(unfortunate abrasion issue with original Warn). Did a triple line pull once with the Amazon synth and didn't break it, so.... Not exactly scientific testing. Soft shackles are great. However anything you hook one too that is steel(or probably...

Roof mounted flexible panel? I had plans to do the same to deal with parasitic loss. Leave the truck at for a week and change and the battery would be dead.

    Fuel Cells and Fuel Systems

Yes. Think of it as a baffle/reservoir. It uses capillary action to draw fuel from areas where it is touching the fuel but not draw air from areas of it that exposed to air. Holley does not say exactly but I am sure that there is a cut off somewhere when too much surface area is exposed to air...

    Fuel Cells and Fuel Systems

Never had any issues in my Taco with fuel starvation, but then again I dont push it like I did my caged CJ-5. Once it had EFI I only had issues on the steepest shit.

    Fuel Cells and Fuel Systems

It's not the pump that makes a difference in fuel starvation so much as the sump. Obviously depending on the severity of the angle the sump needs to be designed for the conditions. I always wanted to tinker with a dual pickup set up with check valves but ended up selling the rig.

    Fuel Cells and Fuel Systems

Harmon Fuel Systems does one off cells. Might be worth giving them a call. I am of two minds with in tank and external pumps. Replaced more than my fair share of both over the years. I always liked the idea of a bottom sump and external pump to alleviate fuel starvation issues at extreme angles...

Diehard Platinum AGM at Advance Auto is one of the cheapest and best AGM out there. Mounts in any orientation. Damn near vibration proof. In my research on batteries I found that even deep cycle batteries should not be taken below 50% discharge. Cycle life drops dramatically with DoD.

LiFePO4 vs AGM vs Deep Cycle, Lead Acid, etc

Just being exposed killed my relays. Remote mounted them, remote mounted the filters, and sealed the completely non-weather tight connections on the motor leads. That lasted until a short developed in the big flat waterproof connector. Cut that out on soldered the wires and all was good...

LiFePO4 vs AGM vs Deep Cycle, Lead Acid, etc

Hell no on the LiPos unless you are knowledgeable enough and willing to be able to tweak your ECU to up your voltage output on the alternator to keep them happy. They do not tolerate the lower charging voltage that standard alternators put out Wire size for the battery relocate is determined by...
