Thought I would start a build thread for my 96. Sold the 92 and picked this one up from the original owner. He bought it from Bob Smith Toyota in LA. Pretty much bone stock except for the rims and tires. Changed all the easy maintenance stuff (belts, plugs, wires, pulleys, oils, filters, etc.).Also did the pin 7 mod with a center diff switch from a older RAV4. Dobinsons lift on its way along with a LCP sway bar disconnect. Picking up a Marlin TC gear set this weekend.

Nice. Shoulda hit me up, I wasn't doing shit today.
Fuck. I should of. Had to go MacGyver on the drivers front shock. Snapped the thing on the top, then had to deal with my tiny ass garage. Literally couldn’t raise the truck high enough to put in the new springs without hitting the header beam. Not to mention the width. Glad I am short. Ha.

Lemme know if you want help with the rear. Unless it's this weekend. Got the kid and half a dozen projects to deal with.

Installed the rears and the sway bar disconnects today. 2.5” Dobinsons medium front and rear. Pretty happy with the results.

There's one of these for sale near me. 500,000 miles, gas powered, looks pretty rough.

Dude wants 2g Canadabux.
I giggled.

Started swapping out the old busted system. The rubber on the front speakers had completely disintegrated. No wonder the sound sounded like tin cans with a string. 0506867E-466C-4383-956C-A02E5D6F76B0.jpegThe rears weren’t completely gone but still sounded like garbage. 072B0679-CD88-473B-A45E-7AEBAD5CAECB.jpeg6C301611-DA6F-4A6F-BD22-BD47130EFC9E.jpegI was limited on my speaker choices because of the depth and I wanted to keep the stock grills and didn’t want to drill or cut anything. I went with Pioneer 6.5” in the front doors and Pioneer 4” in the rear doors. Still have tweeters in the rear headliner and replace the stock sub. I got a new head unit for the Tacoma so I will be installing my old Pioneer avh 2500 in the LC. So far I am happy.
