We will be heading to Cougar Buttes for the weekend of October 26th - 28th if anyone would like to join us. It's out in Lucerne Valley, CA. We will be doing the harder trails, but there are supposed to be a bunch of trails and bypasses to make a lot of trails pretty much any difficulty you want (So I've been told. I've never been). If you want to do the easier trails, bring along a buddy that wants to do them with you.

We will be limiting the group sizes to 5 rigs max. So if you want to join in on the fun, post up here, and I'll add you to the list. Everyone is welcome! HAM radio is mandatory for trail runs. Don't show up without one! They are too cheap to not have one. You can buy a cheap handheld on amazon for about $25. If you want to spend more, go for it, but for $25, there are no excuses as to why you don't have one. If you want to spend a little more, get a better antenna and a battery eliminator so in the event your battery dies, you can still use your radio.

Here are the Coordinates for camp options. I have Camp #1 as first choice, and Camp #2 for 2nd choice.

Camp #1 - First Choice
Lat: 34.47869
Lon: -116.81832

Camp #2 - Backup
Lat: 34.48000
Lon: -116.81895

So far we have the following people interested in going:
  1. @AssBurns
  2. @Hank
  3. @fj_bruiser + some friend(s)?

Bailed List:
  1. @Mike_taco4x4 (Work and truck still broken)
  2. @theesotericone ("Priorities")
  3. @MonkeyProof Maybe? (Where the fuck is he at?)
  4. @85straight (Working that OT)
  5. @T4r3rdGen (No idea why.)

Anyone else?

Oh, 85straight found his problem. It wasn't his HG. He popped a radiator hose which caused him to overheat, and his idle screw backed all the way out which made it run like shit. hahah.

That's good! He doesn't have a 22RE? Just a 22R?

I don't remember if the 22RE had an idle screw or not. Could swear he's FI though. Either way something fell out and screwed him. haha

Idk enough about those motors to know that. Typically when I hear idle screw, I think of a carb haha
Yea a chain of problems led to similar symptoms of a failed Hg.
My motor has a idle screw( or that’s what most people call it) dam thing fell out somewhere so if your not pushing 3k rpms the motor won’t stay running
Anyways I had an extra at the house and installing the blown hose this weekend and i should be gtg.

I’ve also never been to cougar buttes and still not sure if I can hang with you guys and your dual lockers and 35s. I’m happy just getting out there and playing around on random obstacles

You should be fine with your setup. You’ll probably make everything we struggle on look easy

I'll still be on 33's most likely. Called PitBull today and they aren't even making my tires till the 14th. The chance of me getting them and then having time to tub the rig before the 25th isn't good.

What’s really hindering me the most is having a manual and no dual cases. Shit becomes way more difficult than it should be
